This page walks you through your first bet on Cyphers, end to end. No code - just the steps you take in the app. You’ll be done in a few minutes.

What you need

  • A Solana wallet. Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, or any wallet that supports Solana works. If you don’t have one, install Phantom from phantom.app.
  • A small amount of SOL for transaction fees (about $0.50 is plenty).
  • Some USDC on Solana. The minimum bet is $1, but bring whatever you’re comfortable putting up. You can swap SOL for USDC on any Solana DEX (Jupiter, Raydium, Phantom’s built-in swap).
Cyphers runs on Solana devnet during the beta. Devnet uses a test USDC mint that has no real value - there’s a built-in faucet in the app to top you up.

Place your first bet

1

Open the app

Go to the Cyphers web app and click Connect Wallet in the top right. Your wallet extension will pop up and ask you to approve the connection.
If nothing happens, check that your wallet is unlocked and that it’s set to the right network (Devnet during the beta, Mainnet after launch).
2

Pick a market

Browse the Markets page. Each card shows the question, the current odds (how the pool is split between the sides), how much has been bet in total, and how long until the market closes.Look for a market in the betting phase - that’s the only phase that accepts new bets.
3

Choose a side and an amount

Click into a market. You’ll see a bet panel with the available sides:
  • For a YesNo market: a YES button and a NO button.
  • For a MultiOutcome market: one button per option (2 to 4 options).
Pick a side. Enter the amount in USDC - the minimum is $1. The app shows you the fees before you confirm.
4

Confirm the transaction

Click Bet. Your wallet pops up with a transaction to sign. Approve it.Behind the scenes:
  • Your browser encrypts your side using a fresh keypair.
  • The transaction submits the encrypted bet to Solana.
  • The Arcium network processes it within around 10 seconds.
The app shows progress for each step. You don’t need to do anything during the wait.
5

See your position

Go to the Positions tab. Your bet appears there with:
  • The side you picked.
  • Your stake.
  • The odds you locked in at bet time.
  • The market’s status.
Your side is only visible to you (the app decrypts it locally). Anyone else looking at the chain sees encrypted bytes.

Wait for resolution

Once the market closes:
  • Betting stops. No new positions can be opened.
  • The resolver posts the real-world outcome.
  • The Arcium network decrypts every position and computes payouts (about 10 seconds).
  • A 24–48 hour challenge window opens. During this window anyone can flag a wrong-looking resolution.
  • After the window passes undisputed, the market becomes claimable.
For the full timeline, see Market lifecycle.

Claim your payout

If you picked the winning side, your position is now claimable.
1

Open your position

Go to Positions and find the resolved market. The card shows your stake, your side, and your projected payout.
2

Click Claim

Sign the transaction in your wallet. USDC lands in your account a few seconds later.
If the market resolved against you, there’s nothing to claim. The position stays in your history as a record.
If something looks wrong with the resolution, you can dispute it during the challenge window. See Dispute resolution.
